FOCALROOM / CREATIVE WORKSPACE

Begin with an idea. Return to the work.

FocalRoom is an AI-native creative workspace for photography. It focuses on how images become a body of work, connecting human judgment, narrative and review around a project. The creator makes the final decisions.

Three layers of photographic work

01 / PROCESSING

Image processing

Keep developing, color grading and retouching in the tools you know. FocalRoom does not replace Lightroom, Capture One or Photoshop.

02 / EDITING

Creative editing

Decide which images belong together. Comparison, juxtaposition, selection, order and rhythm are at the heart of FocalRoom.

03 / PUBLISHING

Publishing & presentation

Connect the narrative to photobooks, exhibitions and portfolios. Professional layout, color and print output still require development and validation.

One project, different directions

Develop before selecting, or rediscover an image while laying out a book. Stages organize work without locking you into an order. The full cross-tool and versioned workflow is still being built.

What is available and what is next

Availability depends on the installed release and workspace. Existing capabilities and planned work are listed separately; the download does not include every roadmap feature.

Existing capabilities
Projects and photo import, manual selection and comparison, sequences, version history, a demo project, plus web sign-in and private review.
AI selection drafts
Import photos, then give AI a creative goal. Real analysis depends on service availability, account allowance and task scope. Drafts change the selection only when accepted. The website demo uses preset suggestions.
In development
Narrative canvas, a complete canvas Agent, Lightroom Classic / Capture One round-trips, shared boards, photobooks and professional color output.
Planned
Research & Moodboard: start a project before importing photos, organize intent and reference sources, and connect a research board to later editing context.

Keep references distinct from your photographs

Reference images support research and discussion; they must not automatically become your work or enter publication files. Planned reference boards will record sources. Saving a link does not grant rights to download, republish or send it to AI.

Who is FocalRoom for?

Photographers developing long-term projects, editing bodies of work or reviewing with an editor. Art photographers, photobook authors, photo editors and studios can start with selection and sequencing; complete publishing production is still in development.

Download & contact
