FocalRoom / Editor bridges
Plugins and installation
Edit in the tools you know. Bring the photographs back to FocalRoom.
macOS 11+ · Apple Silicon / Intel · Version 1.0.0
What is included
Lightroom Classic uses an export plug-in; Capture One uses a separate bridge application. Results stay on your Mac. No photo uploads or original-file changes.
Two-way catalog sync, rating write-back and print-color guarantees are not included. Real Lightroom/Capture One installations have not yet been verified. Start with copies of a few photographs.
Lightroom Classic
Download Lightroom plug-inInstall and export
- Unzip the download and keep the complete FocalRoom.lrplugin folder.
- Open Lightroom Classic → File → Plug-in Manager → Add. Select the folder and enable the plug-in.
- Select photos → File → Export → Export To: FocalRoom. Choose JPEG or TIFF, then choose a save location when prompted.
Lightroom Classic only; not the cloud-based Lightroom or mobile app. Keep originals online so the plug-in can verify their identity.
Capture One
Download Capture One bridgeInstall and export
- Unzip the download, move FocalRoom Capture One Bridge.app to Applications and open it once.
- Export edited JPEG, PNG or single-page TIFF files from Capture One and wait for completion.
- In the bridge, click Add exported photos, select the matching original for each row, then Save and bring to FocalRoom.
You can also open already-exported photographs with the bridge from Finder. This is not a native Capture One plug-in; do not place it in the Plugins folder.
Open With on an original in Capture One does not include adjustments. Export first, or use Edit With to render JPEG/TIFF for the bridge.
The bridge requires explicit original-file pairing. It does not read or automatically sync Catalog, Session or Variant data.
Bring results to FocalRoom
Clients with Color versions
Import the matching originals into the project first. Open the selection workspace → Color versions → Import edited photos, then select the generated FocalRoom folder. Results are saved separately and can be enlarged; originals, selections and sequences stay unchanged.
Installed releases without that entry
Use Import photos → Choose folder to import the results as separate new photographs. They will not be merged with originals. Linked color versions require a client release that includes that feature; these downloads do not upgrade the client.
Up to 500 photos per batch and 512 MB per rendered file. JPEG, PNG and single-page TIFF are supported. 16-bit files retain their original bytes; viewing uses reduced previews and is not print soft proofing.
Troubleshooting
No matching photo: check the project and select the original file you first imported. Do not force a merge based on filenames.
If macOS blocks the application, record the message and contact the author. Do not disable system security.
Uninstall: remove the Lightroom plug-in in Plug-in Manager; quit and remove the Capture One bridge from Applications. Saved photographs remain unaffected.
